Members present: Judge Reynolds, Judge Screnock, Marty Krueger, Bill Wenzel, Connie Lehman, Jerry Strunz, Cindy Bodendein, Dan Brattset, Jeff Bindl, Ellen Allen, and Ryan Ramnarace
Members absent: Kevin Calkins, Leonie Dolch, Lewis Lange, Kathy Laatsch, Annette
Kuhlmann, and Jay Englund
Others Present: Karla Campion and Chris Witek
The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 3:35 p.m. Motion by Strunz, second by Bindl to adopt agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Strunz, second by Brattset, to approve the minutes of the prior meeting. Motion carried.
Public Comment: None
Communications:
Absences are reported by J. Krueger
TAD Grant: Update is given on the award of TAD funds for Sauk County by J. Krueger. Committee also discusses the highlights of the grant and the service barriers we will be able to address with this funding.
2017 Goals: Committee discusses goals as proposed including moving community service as a sub goal within the Adult Justice System Committee work. Motion by Bodendein, second by Lehman, to approve the goals with recommended changes for 2017. Motion carried.
Data Collection Committee: Motion by Bodendein, second by Bindl, to postpone the appointment of a committee chair to the next meeting. Motion carried.
Standing Committee Appointments:
Adult Justice Systems: Strunz reports the committee will meet regularly on the
1st Wednesday of each month. The committee will
continue looking at pre-trial incarceration.
Drug Court Subcommittee: Screnock reports the committee will begin looking at the
changes needed with TAD funds being awarded. The
committee will meet regularly on the 4th Friday of the
month.
Juvenile Justice Systems: Bindl reports the committee continues to meet and is
looking to create a system map of the JJ system. The
committee will regularly meet the last Wednesday of the
months.
System Mapping: Brattset reports that the committee met and is looking to the
CJCC for guidance on continuing to create the system map
for Sauk County. System Mapping is requesting the CJCC
provide direction on continuing with the map as is or to
transition to mimic the model the state has put out.
Motion by Bodendein, second by Strunz, to transition efforts to create the map in line with the state example. Motion carried.
Data Collection: No chair at this time. Appointments to take place at next
meeting.
