The purpose of this Agreement is to set forth the terms and conditions for the Local Agency to implement and carry out the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (Senior FMNP).

The goals of the program are as follows: a) to provide fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs from farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture (CSA) programs to low-income seniors; b) to increase the consumption of agricultural commodities by expanding or aiding in the expansion of domestic farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and CSAs; and c) develop or aid in the development of new and additional farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and CSAs.
