In 2019, Intrado Life Safety Systems, the vendor for our current 911 system, informed the MIS department that the hardware for our existing system wound be end-of-life in 2021.  The estimated cost of replacement being $250,000.  Subsequently, 125,000 was included in the 2020 MIS budget in the hope of locating alternate funding for the balance of the upgrade.  It was anticipated that, if alternate funding sources could not be identified, the balance would be included in the 2021 MIS budget.

In December of 2019, the Wisconsin Dept of Military Affairs announced the availability of federal grant funding availability through the NextGen 9-1-1 Reimbursement Grant Program.  Sauk County applied for the grant and has been awarded the requested funding.
