Vape Disposal MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
between Juneau County Health Department ,  South Central Alliance FOR TOBACCO PREVENTION & Sauk County Health Department

A) Provide a sealed bucket for the collection of e-cigarettes
a.  bucket appropriately labeled with a hazardous waste and battery sticker.

B) Cover any associated costs with the disposal of bucket and its contents.

C) Will contact establishment a month before a Clean Sweep Event or yearly pick up to notify when 
they will be picking up the bucket(s) for disposal.

D) Provide a vape disposal sign and a copy of appendix I to educate on the importance of proper 
vape disposal.

Sauk County Health Department agrees to:
A) Select a safe location to keep the bucket on their establishment
a. Ensure authorized individuals are the only ones who have access to the location of the bucket 
for safety reasons
b. Establishment will assume responsibility of bucket(s) and its contents until Commercial Tobacco 
Program Coordinator collects it.
c. Example of a safe location would be a storage room or utility closet

B) Contact the Commercial Tobacco Program Coordinator if they shall need an additional disposal 
bucket if the original bucket is full before the scheduled pick up.

C) Provide updated contact information to Commercial Tobacco Program Coordinator as necessary (ex. 
Change of ownership/manager)
