In January 2019, Sauk County started using the In-Rem tax foreclosure process.  Up until then, we had always foreclosed via a tax deed.  Former Assistant Corporation Counsel Debra V. O’Rourke handled all the legal aspects, while I did the mailings, publications and updates as properties were paid.

Due to the unique nature and status of the current Corporation Counsel Department, I am requesting outside counsel to assist with the tax foreclosure process. 

I have attached a contract that was drafted by Attorney Natalie T. Bussan of Cross Jenks Mercer and Maffei, LLP.  Attorney Bussan is very familiar with In-Rem Foreclosure and the process.
