About Emergency Management, Buildings, and Safety

Emergency Management, Buildings and Safety Department oversees administration of the Buildings Services Division, Risk Management/Safety activities and Emergency Management duties. Additionally, the office oversees County phone systems, compliance with underground/aboveground fuel storage regulations, implementation and upkeep of the enhanced 9-1-1 system, construction project oversight and management, and maintenance of County communications system, including all communication towers and fiber optic loop.

Emergency Management develops and maintains an effective emergency management program to protect and assist the citizens of Sauk County whenever a manmade, technological or natural disaster occurs.

Buildings Services assures that the facilities and grounds of the West Square, Courthouse, Shelter Care, Law Enforcement Center/Jail, West Baraboo Garage, and Reedsburg Human Services buildings are properly maintained and operable. Manages and maintains communication systems.

Risk Management/Safety oversees, develops and maintains all safety programs for County employees. Additionally, the office manages all buildings, property and workers compensation insurance.
