Sauk County Highway Department 2012 Road Construction Project

Sauk County Highway Department 2012 Road Construction Projects.

Project One, CTH G, located in the Town of Washington. It starts at the intersection of STH 154 and continues north for four miles to the Village of Lime Ridge. Work involved with this project includes paving a two inch hotmix asphalt surface mat and gravel shouldering.

Project Two, CTH T, located in the Town of Fairfield. It starts at the intersection of Man Mound Road and continues north for five miles to the intersection of CTH U. Work with this project includes pulverizing the existing asphalt surface, finish grading, paving a two inch hotmix asphalt binder and two inch surface mat and gravel shouldering.

Project Three, CTH A, located in the City of Wisconsin Dells. It starts at the STH 16 and continues north for .7 mile to the Juneau County line. Work involved with this project includes pulverizing the existing asphalt surface, finish grading and paving a two inch hotmix asphalt binder mat and a two inch surface mat and gravel shouldering.

Project Four, County Landfill Road, located in the Town of Excelsior. It starts at the STH 33 and continues south and east for two miles to the Sauk County Landfill. Work involved with this project includes paving a two inch hotmix asphalt surface mat and gravel shouldering.

Project Five, CTH V, located in the Towns of Winfield and La Valle. It starts at the STH 33 and continues east seven miles to the City of Reedsburg. Work involved with this project includes culvert replacement, slope and shoulder grading, lowering the grade at four locations to improve sight distances. The road will be paved in 2013.

Bids on Projects One, Two, and Three will be opened and awarded at the next Sauk County Highway Committee Meeting on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. At that time it will be decided on the time schedules for the construction projects.

The roads will remain open during construction with traffic down to one lane with flagging operations, expect delays and it is advised to use alternate routes if possible. Project construction schedules will be posted on the Sauk County Website. The public is reminded to slow down and use caution when traveling in construction zones.
