ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

SAUK COUNTY HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

CTH T – CHI PROJECT

Notice is hereby given by the Sauk County Transportation Commission, of Sauk County, Wisconsin that it will receive sealed bids for C.T.H. T, Local Road Improvement Program County Highway Improvement Project until 9:00 a.m., local time on the 14th day of June 2012, in the office of the Sauk County Highway Commissioner located at 620 STH 136, West Baraboo, Wisconsin.   Bids will be publicly opened and read on June 14, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

ESTIMATE OF MAJOR QUANTITIES

43,000 Square Yards of Pavement Pulverizing

12,000 Tons E-1 Type Asphalt Concrete Paving

1,000 Gals. Tack Coat

Specifications and bid documents are available at the Sauk County Highway Commissioner’s Offices, 620 STH 136, West Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Proposal shall be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the maximum bid, payable to the Treasurer of Sauk County as a guarantee that the bidder, if the bid is accepted, will execute and file the Contract.  The Certified Check is returnable to the bidder immediately after the signing of the Contract.

A Performance Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the total bid price, a Certificate of Insurance, together within executed contract, will be required of the successful bidder.

The contractor shall be pre-qualified by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to perform the work in this bid.

Pursuant to Section 66.0903, Wisconsin Statutes, the minimum wages to be paid on the project shall be in accordance with the wage rate scale established by local wage rates.

The Sauk County Transportation Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept any bid they deem in the best interests of the Sauk County Highway Department.
