Meeting Minutes

 

Committee Members Present: Bailey, Dederich, Deitrich, Felton, Fleischman, Gavin, Geoghegan, Hameau, Pate, Rathman, Wilson

Committee Members Absent: Simmert

 

1.  Call to Order: Deitrich called meeting to order at 3pm

 

2.  Adopt Agenda: Motion by Pate, seconded by Dederich to adopt agenda. Motion carried.

 

3.  Approve Minutes: Motion by Hameau, seconded by Pate to approve minutes from January 25, 2022 meeting.

 

4.  Public Comment: None

 

5.  Communications: None

 

6.  Discussion and appointment of Committee Chair and Vice Chair:

-Motion by Pate, seconded by Geoghegan to nominate John Deitrich as Chair by unanimous ballot. Motion carried.

- Motion by Pate, seconded by Brent to nominate Tom Gavin as Vice Chair by unanimous ballot. Motion carried.

7.  Review 2022 Land Records Budget Progress: Pate handed out document.  Discussion.

 

8.  Discussion of Land Records Activities & Updates by Department

a. Surveyor report

          1. Update on Remonumentation projects for 2022 WLIP Grant: Dederich discussed projects on hold til Fall (leaf off). It is believed that these projects should be completed by the end of 2022.

 

b. Land Records/GIS

          1. 2022 Land Records Report to DOA: Felton stated that Accounting sent the numbers for Land Records accounts.  She will work on that soon; the report is due by June 30th.
          2. 2022 Summer Intern Projects: Fleischmann discussed the project with LRE that the summer intern is working on. The project will be to gather and document Land Use to produce a Land Use layer.  LRE is updating the county and township Comprehensive Plans.  Those are to be updated every 10 years.  Sauk Co does not have information on Land Use, this is a great time to incorporate it into the plans.

 

9.  2023 Land Records Modernization Budget: Discussion of 2023 Goals & Priorities: All felt Goals & Priorities are current. Discussion about paper copies versus digital. ROD went on record as wanting to keep paper records. Shielding or masking documents discussed. Discussion of some possible projects. Co Surveyor talked about needing posts for remonumentation projects.  He got some info and believed that it should be under $1000. That would cover for the corners acquired for 2022 WLIP SIG projects. The Remonumentation line item will cover this cost.

 

10.  Agenda items for next meeting: Budget for 2023 will be discussed, for the most part the majority of budget work will be done by the next LIC meeting. Will forward usual agenda items to next agenda.

 

11.  Next meeting (tentatively set for Thursday September 22, 2021 @ 3pm; Room 213)

 

12.  Adjournment: Motion by Pate, seconded by Gavin to adjourn meeting at 3:27pm.
