Purpose

Request for Proposal for Development of Corridor Plan for the Great Sauk State Trail from the Sauk Prairie Recreational Area to the 400 State Trail

Background

BACKGROUND: Several segments of the Great Sauk State Trail have been completed, which has brought us to the Sauk Prairie State Recreational Area.  The Land Resources and Environment Department (LRE) has been tasked with creating a corridor plan for the remaining segments of the trail starting from the end of the existing trail to the 400 State Trail within the City of Reedsburg.  To expedite this process, the LRE Department has drafted an RFP (Exhibit A), which would allow us to work with a consultant to prepare all of the components necessary for a corridor plan.

Budget Status (Other/External Sources):

Fiscal Note: The 2023 LRE Budget includes $2,000,000 of ARPA Funds for further development of the Great Sauk State Trail Wisconsin River Bridge and planning/construction of the Great Sauk State Trail corridor.  An additional $716,380 of carryforward funds are also designated within the 2023 Budget for planning/construction of future GSST segments.

MIS Note: No information systems impact.
