AUTHORIZING TO CONTRACT WITH MALY ROOFING COMPANY INC. TO REPLACE THE ROOF ON THE REEDSBURG HUMAN SERVICES FACILITY

Background: The Reedsburg Human Services facility houses the Human Services and ADRC departments.  The facility has a flat rubber ballasted roof that has come to the end of its expected life.  The roof was last replaced around 1996.  The life expectancy of a flat rubber roof is the 15-20 year timeframe.  The roof has had a number of leaks the last few years, in which Building Services and outside contractors have addressed.  The roof also does not seem to drain properly to the roof drains thus causing leaks.  This project has been on the Building Service department radar the last couple of years, and has budgeted for the roof replacement.  An RFP approved by Corporation Counsel was sent out for response from potential vendors, and three vendors responded to the Reedsburg Roof RFP.

           WHEREAS, The Property and Insurance committee recommends the replacement of the Reedsburg Human Services roof be awarded to Maly Roofing Company INC. at cost of $66,230.00; and,

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, that the Building Services Facility Director is hereby authorized to contract with Maly Roofing Company INC for the replacement of the Reedsburg Human Services roof at a cost of $66,230.00; and,

            BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Buildings Services Facility Director is hereby authorized to approve change orders for any potential unforeseen conditions as long as such change orders individually do not exceed $10,000.00, so long as budget dollars are available for those changes.

For consideration by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors on June 20, 2017.
