        APPROVING A TOWER SPACE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH NEW CINGULAR WIRELESS PCS LLC

Background: Sauk County owns and maintains a Communications and Fiber network throughout the county. Space is available for a cellular provider to lease on a number of the nine (9) county-owned tower sites . New Cingular Wireless PCS LLC has requested to lease space on county-owned Tower on the Sauk County Courthouse in the City of Baraboo. A tower space lease Agreement has developed between Sauk County and New Cingular Wireless PCS LLC to lease up to 200 square feet of space in the Old Huber Center area on the third floor of the Courthouse and install up to six (6) antennas and feeder lines on each the Tower. New Cingular Wireless PCS LLC will compensate the County monthly with the first term being a five (5) year lease for each site leased. New Cingular Wireless PCS LLC has the option to renew the lease for three (3) more five (5) year period which would total up to a twenty (20) year lease.

           

            WHEREAS New Cingular Wireless PCS LLC proposes to lease ground and tower space on the Sauk County Courthouse Tower from Sauk County; and

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors, met in regular session, hereby authorizes the County Board Chair and County Clerk to sign the lease contract with New Cingular Wireless PCS LLC for the leasing of both ground and tower space on the described county-owned tower sites.

 

For consideration by the Sauk County Board of Supervisors on December 19, 2017.

FISCAL NOTE: Assuming the lease is renewed and is continued as is for the full 20 years, Sauk County will receive revenues totaling $577,964.97
