2025 Respect for Law Ceremony

The 2025 Sauk County Respect for Law Day observance will be held on Monday, May 12 at 8:30 a.m. on the west side (Broadway Street) of the historic Sauk County Courthouse.  The event is held each year in conjunction with National Police Week and honors current and past public safety personnel who serve Sauk County in law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services.  The public is invited to attend this outdoor event, which will include brief speeches and ceremonious elements honoring those who served and continue to enhance public safety in Sauk County.

At this year’s event, we will be adding the names of 5 first responders to the memorial wall inside the Courthouse.  Together, these five men provided over 150 years of service to their communities within Sauk County.  They will join the over 350 men and women already memorialized there.  Dedicated in May 2001, the “Wall of Honor” was placed inside the Courthouse by the Baraboo Optimist Club, a group who continues to support this event and local public safety.

Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to the County Board Room in the Sauk County West Square Building for light refreshments and conversation.
