Baraboo Man Arrested on Drug Charges

On May 1, 2012, the Sauk County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the Township of Fairfield. This search was the result of an investigation that started with a report from someone who found a marijuana grow in a wooded area in the Township of Greenfield. The Sauk County Drug Task Force opened an investigation and was able to identify the subject who maintained the marijuana grow.

As a result of the investigation, Gregory B. Emerson, age 36, of Baraboo, was arrested and booked into the Sauk County Jail for Manufacture THC, 3 counts of Deliver THC, Possession with Intent to Deliver THC and Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place.
All of these drug charges are Class I felonies. If convicted of a Class I Felony, the penalty is a fine of up to $10,000, or imprisonment of up to 3-1/2 years, or both. The Court may suspend the defendant’s operating privileges for not less than 6 months or more than 5 years. If the defendant’s driving privileges are already suspended, any suspension imposed must be served consecutively.

The Sauk County Drug Task Force is made up of officers from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Baraboo Police Dept., Sauk Prairie Police Dept., Reedsburg Police Dept., Lake Delton Police Dept., Spring Green Police Dept., and the Wisconsin Dells Police Dept.
