Cupids Warrant

Special News Release

June 14, 2013

On June 13, 2013, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and the Sauk County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Cupid’s Novelties and Lingerie, located on CTK BD in the Township of Delton, Sauk County.  The search warrant was issued after the Task Force conducted an investigation into the sale of synthetic marijuana.

During the search the officers recovered a large quantity of synthetic marijuana, being sold as “Potpourri”.  Also seized was a large quantity of drug paraphernalia for the smoking of the synthetic marijuana, cash, and other documents.   

Paul M. Synder, age 39 from Poynette, WI, and Jerry C. Davis, age 54, of Madison, WI, were issued a Notice to appear in Court for Possession with Intent to Distribute a Hazardous Substance in violation of Wisconsin Statute, 942.316(3).  Both subjects were given a court date of July 24, 2013.

There are severe medical consequences that commonly follow the abuse of synthetic marijuana including: exhaustion, hallucination, increased heart rate, over-heating of the body, seizures, hospitalization, suicidal tendencies, and in some cases even death.

This Investigation is continuing by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and the Sauk County Drug Task Force. The Sauk County Drug Task Force is made up of officers from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Baraboo Police Department, Sauk Prairie Police Department, Lake Delton Police Department, Reedsburg Police Department, Wisconsin Dells Police Department, Spring Green Police Department, and Wisconsin Sate Patrol.
