Initial News Release

Fatal Crash – Town of Winfield

On January 29, 2025, at approximately 5:15 am, the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a single-vehicle crash in the area of CTH K at Gavin Road in the Town of Winfield. Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Reedsburg Fire Department and Reedsburg Ambulance Service personnel were immediately sent to the scene.

The initial investigation shows that the SUV was traveling north on CTH K and failed to negotiate a corner. The SUV then subsequently left the roadway striking multiple trees.

The operator of the SUV and sole occupant, a 49-year-old female from Reedsburg, Wisconsin, died at the scene. The name is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.

This crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office. The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Reedsburg Fire Department, Reedsburg Area Ambulance Service and the Sauk County Coroner’s Office.
