Fatal Traffic Accident
December 4, 2018
On Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at about 8:55 am, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle crash on Horkan Road west of Horkan Lane in the Township of Dellona.
Upon arrival, deputies found the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle to be unresponsive. Revival efforts were unsuccessful and the operator was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner.
The initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Jeep Cherokee was being operated south bound on Horkan Road by a 67 year old Reedsburg woman. The operator lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, striking a tree. The operator was not wearing a seatbelt. The name is being withheld pending notification of family.
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Reedsburg Fire Department, Reedsburg Area Ambulance as well as the Sauk County Coroner. The matter remains under investigation.
