Fatal Traffic Accident

On Saturday April 18, 2020 at approximately 5:26 am the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a single vehicle traffic accident on State Hwy 33 east of County Road U in the township of Fairfield.

The initial investigation shows a 2007 Cadillac Escalade was westbound on State Hwy 33 negotiating a curve in the roadway. The vehicle entered the gravel shoulder then crossed the center line and entered the ditch causing the vehicle to overturn and roll. The male occupant of the vehicle whom has been identified as Ross A. McFarlane, age 41 of Portage, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner’s Office.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Baraboo Fire Department, Baraboo Ambulance Service and the Sauk County Coroner’s Office. This Traffic Accident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
