Fatal Traffic Accident Jellystone Camp-Resort

On July 28, 2019 at 10:24 am the Sauk County Communications Center received a call of a traffic accident involving a truck and pedestrian at Jellystone Camp-Resort in the Township of Delton. Sauk County Sheriff's Deputies, Sauk County Sheriff's Accident Reconstruction Team, Lake Delton Police Department, Lake Delton Fire, and Dells Delton Ambulance Service responded to the scene.

The Initial investigation shows a pickup truck being operated by a seventy six year old male was traveling through the camping area of the resort, upon cresting a hill in the roadway the pickup truck struck a seven year old female whom was in the roadway. The seven year old female was pronounced deceased at the scene, the operator of the pickup was not injured. Speed does not appear to be a factor in the incident.

This traffic accident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office. Names of the parties involved are being withheld at this time. Jellystone Camp-Resort staff and management have been fully cooperative and have continued to provide all information requested for the investigation.
