Fatal Traffic Crash STH 33

On Friday August 16, 2024 at approximately 2:20 PM, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a head on traffic crash on STH 33 approximately one half mile west of Sand Rd in the Delton Township.  Upon arrival of initial responding units, they located a Subaru Outback on its roof and a GMC Sierra, both in the westbound lane.  Initial investigation revealed the GMC was attempting to pass an uninvolved vehicle and struck the Subaru head on.  The operator of the Subaru was pronounced dead on scene.  The operator of the GMC was transported to UW Hospital with life threatening injuries.  The crash remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department.
