FELONY OWI ARRESTS

 

On December 10, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop for a speeding violation on Bluff Road near Dan Mar Court in the Town of Merrimac.  The operator of the vehicle was Jonathan M. Orth, age 50 of Merrimac, WI.  During the Deputy’s initial contact and during Orth’s performance on field sobriety tests, evidence of impairment was observed. 

Orth has four previous Operating While Intoxicated convictions.  Orth was arrested and transported to the Sauk County Jail.  Orth has been charged with Operating While Intoxicated 5th Offense and Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration 5th Offense by the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office. 

 

 

On December 10, 2018 at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Sauk County Communications Center was advised that a vehicle had departed North Reedsburg Road and had become stuck in the yard of a residence near Rosey Lane in the Town of Delton.  The vehicle was able to travel back onto N. Reedsburg Road and continue westbound.  A Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Deputy located and stopped the vehicle on N. Reedsburg Road near Mirror Lake Road.

The operator of the vehicle, James Blandin, age 36 of Madison, WI, showed signs of impairment during the Deputy’s initial contact and during his performance of field sobriety tests.  Blandin has three previous convictions for Operating While Intoxicated and had a revoked driving status.  Blandin was arrested and transported to the Sauk County Jail where it was determined that he had provided the Deputy with a false name.  Blandin has been charged with Operating While Intoxicated 4th Offense, Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration 4th Offense, Operating While Revoked, Obstructing an Officer, and several traffic citations by the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.

 

Operating While Intoxicated and Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration 4th and subsequent offenses are Felonies in the State of Wisconsin.
