Gillam Road Crash

**Special News Release**
September 3, 2011
On September 3, 2011 at approximately 12:54pm the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a two vehicle head on collision on Gillam Road just south of CTH T in the Township of Fairfield. Sheriff’s Deputies, Baraboo Fire Department, and Baraboo Ambulance were immediately sent to the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Lexus was southbound on Gillam Road when it crossed over the centerline and struck a 2008 Ford F350 that was northbound. The operator of the Lexus had to be extricated from the vehicle using the JAWS of LIFE. The operator was transported from the scene to UW Hospital in Madison by Med Flight Helicopter. The operator of the pick-up truck was treated and released at the scene by Baraboo District Ambulance staff.
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Baraboo Fire Department, Baraboo District Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Sauk County Highway Department. Both subjects were wearing their seatbelts and this incident remains under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol. Names are not being released at this time.
