Heroin Arrests - Baraboo Area

In January 2018, the Sauk County Drug Task Force opened an investigation into the trafficking of Heroin, occurring primarily in the Baraboo area.

On March 19th, 2018, Task Force members, along with Special Agents with the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation stopped a vehicle occupied by suspects Aaron H. Burton, age 33 of North Freedom and Brittany N. Lord, age 28, of Baraboo, on CTH U in Fairfield Township in Sauk County.

Lord was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant and cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle while Suspended. She was taken to the Sauk County Jail and prior to the booking process; two small bags of tan powder were located hidden on Lord. The substance tested positive for Heroin and weighed a total of 2.8 grams.

The investigation continued, and on March 26th, 2018, Detectives arrested Aaron Burton for one count of Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver and Obstructing an Officer and Brittany Lord for one count of Possession of Heroin with Intent to Deliver, Obstructing an Officer and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

The Sauk County Drug Task Force consists of members from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, the Baraboo, Sauk Prairie, Reedsburg, Lake Delton, and Spring Green / Plain Police Departments.
