Homicide Victim Identified

Pulvermacher

On Monday, January 14th, 2019, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Ho-Chunk Casino and Convention Center, for a male located in a vehicle who was unresponsive and possibly deceased.

Evidence at the scene indicated that the death was possibly a homicide and that suspicion was confirmed during an autopsy in the afternoon on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

At this time, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office is prepared to release the identity of the victim in this Homicide as 88-year-old Harold A. Johnson of Portage, WI. This incident was a senseless and cowardly act against a kind and innocent man, and our thought remain with his family and friends at this time.

We ask the public and media to respect the privacy of Mr. Johnson’s friends and family at this heartbreaking time in their lives.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to search for the suspect in this case, 68-year-old Robert M. Pulvermacher. (Photo Attached) Pulvermacher most recently resided in rural Middleton, WI and frequents casinos in the Madison and Baraboo areas. He is considered armed and dangerous and a probation and parole apprehension request has been issued for his arrest.

We ask the public to stay vigilant and on the lookout from Pulvermacher, and if he is seen, attempt to maintain visual contact and call 911. Anyone with information in this case or the whereabouts of Pulvermacher are asked to call Sauk County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-847-7285.
