October 4, 2018

On October 3, 2018 at approximately 7:10 AM, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a construction business in the Town Of Spring Green for a report of two company vehicles stolen during the night.  At the same time, the Sheriff’s Office was out with a traffic crash in the Town Of Spring Green.  The crash involved a vehicle stolen from Richland County.  At the same time of the reported stolen vehicles from Sauk County, the Sauk County 9-1-1 Center received a report of two vehicles crashed on a township road in the Town Of Spring Green.  All crashed vehicles were unattended.

A preliminary investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and the Spring Green Police Department revealed that three juveniles left a residence near Lone Rock around 1:00 AM on October 3, 2018.  The juveniles left on bicycles.  The juveniles went to a commercial business in Richland County.  They loaded their bikes into a Chevy Trailblazer and took the vehicle without the owner’s permission.  The juveniles drove to the construction business in the Town Of Spring Green and took the first of two vehicles.  Both vehicles were Ford F250 pickups.  They then went east on STH 60 where they crashed the Trailblazer.  They abandoned the Trailblazer and returned to the construction company where they stole the second Ford F250.  They then left eastbound on STH 60, one truck following the other.  A short time later the juveniles turned onto a township road off of STH 60.  It appears one of the juveniles lost control of one of the trucks and rolled it into a ditch.  The second truck also entered the ditch and was abandoned.  There was damage to both trucks.  The juveniles, who were transporting their bikes in the stolen trucks, they rode their bikes back into the Village Of Spring Green and attended school.

Through the investigation, the juveniles were deveolped as suspects and subsquent interviews with the juveniles resulted in all three juveniles being referred to the Juvenile Court System on several charges.

The age of the juveniles were 13, 15, and 15.
