Lt. Terry Spencer Lifesave Award

LIFE SAVING AWARDS

May 29, 2015

Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister awarded  Lt. Terry Spencer a Lifesaving award for his actions while on duty.

Lt. Terry Spencer was awarded for the following action:

“On Friday, May 22, 2015, Lt. Terry Spencer responded to a medical emergency call on I90/94 Mile Marker 97.  The initial call from the wife was that her husband was collapsed and suffering from some sort of medical emergency.  Lt. Terry Spencer responded at approximately 8:39 pm to find the male unconscious and not breathing.  Lt. Spencer removed the male from the vehicle and immediately began cardiac resuscitation procedures to include applying the defibrillator.   Shortly after beginning cardiac resuscitation State Trooper Jon Schick arrived and began delivering respirations while Lt. Terry Spencer continued with chest compressions.  Dells/Delton Ambulance then arrived and the patient’s care was turned over to them at which time they did a reassessment and determined that the patient was now breathing shallowly on his own and had a pulse.  The male was then transferred to St. Clare and later transferred to UW Hospital by Med Flight.

It is an honor to work with the dedicated men and women of the Sauk County Sheriff's Office and I am honored to issue this lifesaving award pin for  Lt. Terry Spencer's actions.
