On September 22, 2018 at approximately 11:08 AM, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Terrytown Rd. and Cornfield Rd. for a report of a truck doing donuts in a field.  Upon sheriff’s deputies’ arrival, they located the suspect vehicle in the yard of a private residence.  As deputies approached the vehicle, it appeared that the driver was passed out.  Deputies made contact with the driver at which time the driver began to back up and hit one of the patrol vehicles in the driveway.  The driver then went forward through the yard and took off.  A short pursuit followed at which time the driver stopped and appeared to be cooperating with deputies.  The driver then took off again, going through the yard of another residence before heading east on Terrytown Rd.  Deputies terminated the pursuit, as there were several vehicles traveling westbound on Terrytown Rd.  The truck was later observed in the City of Baraboo.  Baraboo officers and sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop the truck at which time the driver drove into a yard on Ridge St. and got hung up on a retaining wall.  The driver continued to rock the truck attempting to free it from the retaining wall.  Officers had to break out both windows and tased the driver to gain compliance.

Arrested was Quentin D. Labansky, age 20.  Labansky was charged with Eluding, OWI With A Controlled Substance, Hit and Run-Property Damage, Operating After Suspension and Operating Without Insurance. Labansky was also charged with Burglary and Theft from an incident not related to the eluding incident.
