Motor Vehicle vs. Pedestrian

On Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at approximately 10:12PM the Sauk County Dispatch Center received a report of a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Highway 12 near the intersection of County Road PF in the township of Prairie Du Sac.

First arriving deputies on scene located a 2007 Chevrolet Impala which was stopped in the roadway. A pedestrian was lying on the roadside and deputies immediately began administering aid. Med-flight was requested and the pedestrian was transported to Sauk Prairie Hospital.

Initial investigation showed the Chevrolet Impala was being driven northbound on Highway 12 just north of the intersection of County Road PF. The pedestrian was on the east side of the road and began to walk west to cross Highway 12 when they were struck. The operator of the Impala called 911 to report the incident and remained on scene throughout the investigation. The operator of the Impala is cooperating with the investigation. The name of the operator and pedestrian are being withheld at this time pending the investigation. The roadway was closed for several hours while deputies investigated the crash.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Sauk Prairie Police Department, Prairie Du Sac Fire Department, and Sauk Prairie EMS.
