Motorcycle Crash

On Thursday, May 16, at about 10:38 p.m., the Sauk County Communications Center was advised of a car versus motorcycle crash with two injuries.  The crash occurred at the intersection of STH 33 / STH 58, in the township of Lavalle.  Lavalle Fire Department and First Responders, Reedsburg EMS, and the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle, operated by Terry L. Dunn Jr, age 37, of Elroy, WI,  was westbound on STH 33 with one passenger, Georgia F. Dunn, age, 37, of Elroy, Wi.  2005 Chevrolet 4 door sedan, operated by James P. Luckey, age 22, of Eau Claire, WI,  was southbound on STH 58.  Luckey failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign and turned into the path of the Yamaha.

The Terry Dunn Jr. and Georgia Dunn were transported from the scene by Reedsburg EMS.  The Terry Dunn Jr. was subsequently transported to UW Hospital via Med-Flight with severe injuries.  Luckey was not injured.  Neither occupant of the Yamaha was wearing a helmet.  Speed and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash.

Luckey was issued a citation for “Failure to Yield Right of Way – Great Bodily Harm.”
