Narcotics Arrests

On July 8th, 2013, the Sauk County Drug Task Force, along with the Sauk County Sheriff's Department, arrested Willie L. Hopson age 57 of Reedsburg and his wife Mary E. Hopson, age 48, after a traffic stop in the Township of Delton.  Prescription oxycodone and US currency were located on Willie Hopson at the time of arrest.  Both subjects were incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail.
 
Willie Hopson was charged with Delivery of Schedule II Narcotics 3 counts and Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule II Narcotics. If convicted, Willie could face imprisonment of up to 60 years, or a fine of up to $200,000, or both.  Mary Hopson was charged with Party to a Crime Delivery of Schedule II Narcotics 2 counts.  If convicted Mary could face imprisonment of up to 30 years, or a fine of up to $100,000, or both.
 
These arrests were the result of a three month long investigation by the Sauk County Drug Task Force.  During that time period, Willie Hopson sold his prescription oxycodone to an undercover informant. After Hopson’s arrest, officers conducted a search warrant on a safety deposit box belonging to Hopson at a local financial institution. Inside the safety deposit box officers found more prescription oxycodone and $1200.00 in US currency.
 
The Sauk County Drug Task Force is made up of officers from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Delton Police Department, Sauk Prairie Police Department, Baraboo Police Department, Reedsburg Police Department, Spring Green Police Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
