On Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at approximately 2:20 AM the Sauk County dispatch center received a report of a one vehicle traffic crash on US Highway 12 near the intersection with Ski High Road in the township of Sumpter. The initial call stated there was a lone vehicle in the median which was stuck in deep snow. 

Sauk County Deputies arrived on scene and located a 2010 Jeep stuck in the snow. The operator of the Jeep was identified as the registered owner Robert Stowell, age 37 of Janesville. As a result of their investigation into the traffic crash, Stowell was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense. He was also charged with possession of THC and making threats to an officer. Stowell was transported to the Sauk County Jail where he was turned over to the custody of the jail staff.
