On Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at approximately 11:27 PM, a deputy from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle traveling on Kennedy Rd near Carlos Rd in the Spring Green Township for a speed violation and operating left of the centerline. The deputy made contact with the operator who was identified as Nichole D Lawinger, age 40 of Plain.

While speaking to the operator, the deputy observed signs of impairment.  The deputy also observed an open can of beer in the vehicle.  Lawinger was asked to do field sobriety tests and as a result of those tests, she was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, 3rd offense. That charge is being referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office. Lawinger was also cited for possession of open intoxicants and speeding.
