OWI 4 Arrest

On October 21, 2012 at approximately 12:10am a Sauk County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on STH 60 in the area of Old Bluff Trail in the Township of Prairie Du Sac. During the course of the investigation the Deputy determined that the operator, Jose Alfredo Duran, age 38, of Baraboo, WI, had been drinking. Duran was administered field sobriety tests and failed. It was discovered that Duran had three prior OWI convictions within the past five years, and failed to have an ignition interlock device installed on his vehicle. Duran also had three children in the vehicle, ages 5, 4, and 21 months.
Duran was placed under arrest and incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail. He has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated 4th Offense within 5 years, with a passenger under 16 years of age, Operating After Revocation OWI related, Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device, Speeding, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, and Violation of Child Restraint (4-8 years of age).
