HIT AND RUN OWI ARREST

On December 18th, 2018 at approximately 6:47 PM the Sauk County Communications Center was notified of a two-car motor vehicle crash on North Reedsburg Road at County Road A in the Town of Fairfield. A vehicle reportedly rear ended another vehicle that was stopped at a stop sign and fled the scene. The hit and run vehicle was located a short time later by the Lake Delton Police Department at an area motel. The operator of the vehicle was Lori A. Metcalf, age 37 of Baraboo, WI. Sauk County Deputies responded and during the initial contact and during Metcalf’s performance on field sobriety tests, evidence of impairment was observed. Metcalf was arrested and transported to the Sauk County Jail.

Metcalf has been charged with Operating While Intoxicated 4thOffense-causing injury, Hit and Run causing Injury, Felony Bail Jumping, failure to notify police of accident and failing to maintain control of a vehicle. 

The two occupants in the vehicle that was struck suffered minor injuries and received medical attention at a local hospital.  

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lake Delton Police Department and Baraboo District Ambulance Service.

Operating While Intoxicated 4th and subsequent offenses are Felonies in the State of Wisconsin.
