OWI #4 with minor passengers

On May 28, 2023 at approximately 6:39 PM Sauk County Dispatch received a reckless driving complaint.  A deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff's Office later located the vehicle and contacted the driver at a business in the Village of West Baraboo.

The operator of the vehicle was identified as Susan Lawton, age 46 of Baraboo. Lawton had two minor passengers in the vehicle, one 10 years of age, and the other 14 years of age.

During contact with Lawton the deputy noted signs of impairment. The deputy learned that Lawton had three prior convictions for Operating While Intoxicated.  Lawton was asked to do field sobriety tests and as a result of those tests, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated- 4th Offense with minor passenger. Lawton was transported to the Sauk County Jail. 

The charge of Operating While Intoxicated- 4th Offense with minor passenger will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney's Office.
