OWI 4th Arrest

NEWS RELEASE

FELONY OWI 4TH ARREST

On January 18, 2019 at approximately 2:15 a.m., a Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a vehicle cross the centerline on STH 33 near Sand Road in the Town of Delton.  The vehicle traveled into the oncoming lane occupied by the Deputy, forcing the Deputy to take evasive action.  The Deputy was able to avoid a collision and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The operator of the vehicle was Daniel M. Mayotte, age 43, of Ashland, Wisconsin.  During the subsequent investigation and his performance on field sobriety tests, Mayotte showed signs of impairment due to alcohol consumption.  Mayotte has three previous convictions for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI).  Mayotte was arrested for OWI 4th Offense and transported to the Sauk County Jail.

A charge of Operating While Intoxicated 4th Offense, a Class H Felony, will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.
