OWI 4th Offense Arrest

OWI 4TH OFFENSE ARREST

 

On May 12, 2019 at approximately 2:13 p.m., a Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop for a speed violation on Golf Course Road near Ski Hill Road in the Town of Reedsburg.  The operator of the vehicle was Jonathan R. Schanke, age 35, of rural Reedsburg.  The Deputy observed signs of impairment.  Schanke submitted to field sobriety testing which showed evidence of impairment.  A preliminary breath test showed an alcohol concentration greater than permitted by law.  Schanke has 3 prior convictions for Operating While Intoxicated.

Schanke was arrested and incarcerated at the Sauk County Jail.  The charge of Operating While Intoxicated 4th Offense will be referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.  Schanke was also issued citations for speeding and possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. 

OWI 4th and subsequent violations are felony charges in Wisconsin.
