OWI 5th Offense

On Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at approximately 8:42 PM a deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff''s Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of USH 14 and Porter Rd in the Town of Spring Green. The deputy had been monitoring traffic and observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and stopped the vehicle.

Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle who was identified as Darin C. Mays, age 56 from Madison, the deputy detected signs of impairment. Mays was asked to submit to field sobriety testing and as a result of the testing was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated, 5th offense. Mays was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of THC, and Operating While Revoked.  

Mays was transported to the Sauk County Jail and the vehicle was removed by Wagner's Towing.
