OWI 6

On July 7^th, 2024 at approximately 3:33PM, a Deputy from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on CTH H in the Town of Winfield. The Deputy made contact with the operator, who was identified as Brian W. Mertins, age 45, of Racine, WI.

While speaking with Mertins, the Deputy observed signs of impairment. Mertins was asked to perform field sobriety tests. As a result of those tests, Mertins was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated – 6th Offense.

Charges of Operating While Intoxicated – 6th Offense and Felony Bail Jumping are being referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.
