OWI 7th Offense Arrest

NEWS RELEASE

February 23, 2021

On February 22, 2021 at approximately 4:53 p.m., the Sauk County Communication Center dispatched deputies to the area of STH 78 and STH 113 in the Town of Merrimac for a report of a green Saturn SUV with a possible intoxicated driver. Deputies located the vehicle on STH 113 near CTH DL.

The driver of the Saturn was identified as Ronald L. McFarlane, age 64, of rural Baraboo, WI. Deputies observed signs of impairment and McFarlande refused to participate in field sobriety testing. McFarlane was subsequently arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.

McFarlane has 6 prior convictions for Operating While Intoxicated and also has multiple open felony cases through both Sauk and Columbia Counties.

McFarlane was transported to the Sauk County Jail and has been charged with Operating While Intoxicated 7th offense, Felony Bail Jumping, and Possess Open Intoxicants in Motor Vehicle.
