On Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at approximately 12:28AM, a Deputy from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of N Reedsburg Road and County Road BD in Baraboo. The Deputy made contact with the operator, who was identified as Douglas P Esposito, age 57 of Baraboo.

A Sauk County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was requested to perform a K-9 sniff of the vehicle. When the K-9 Deputy and his partner arrived on scene, a K-9 sniff of the vehicle was performed with a positive indication. Based on the K-9 indication a probable cause search of the vehicle was performed. Deputies located Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle.

While speaking with Esposito, the Deputy observed signs of impairment. Esposito was asked to perform field sobriety tests and as a result of those tests, Esposito was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 8th Offense.

Charges of Operating While Intoxicated 8th Offense, Fail to Install Ignition Interlock Device, Operating after Revocation, Possession of Open Intoxicants, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia are being referred to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.
