OWI 8 Crash

On June 16, 2012 at approximately 8:21pm the Sauk County Communications Center received a report of a motorcycle crash on STH 78 and CTH U. It was reported that two subjects were injured. Sheriff’s Deputies, Merrimac Fire and First Responders, and Divine Savior Ambulance were sent to the scene.
Responders located a single motorcycle that had crashed and two patients identified. Due to the apparent seriousness of injuries, UW Hospital Med Flight was requested to respond.
The crash investigation revealed that Michael C. Neminski, age 52, of Portage, WI, was eastbound on STH 78 when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of his cycle causing the crash. Neminski was transported to UW Hospital in Madison by ambulance for treatment of his injuries. A passenger, Susan Klaila, age 44, of Sun Prairie, WI, was transported to UW Hospital by Med Flight Helicopter.
Neminski was charged with Causing Injury by Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated 8th Offense. Neither Neminski or Klaila were wearing a helmet.

Sheriff Chip Meister
