OWI Crash

     On March 15, 2014 at approximately 4:55am the Sauk County Communications Center received multiple reports of a vehicle running into a residence in the Village of Merrimac and fleeing the scene.  A description of the vehicle and a direction of travel was given to responding Deputies.  Deputies located a trail of fresh vehicle fluid leading away from the direction of the crash and were able to locate the vehicle and the driver at 111 Thomas Street in the Village of Merrimac.

     During the course of the investigation it was determined that Jason L. Pearson, age 38, of Merrimac, WI was the operator at the time of the crash.  Pearson failed Field Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest for Operating A Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated 1^st Offense, Hit and Run to Property Adjacent to Highway, and Inattentive Driving.

     As a result of this crash, there was significant damage to one residence, a yard at another residence, and Pearson’s vehicle.
