Pedestrian injured in Sauk County crash.

On 07/24/2017 @ 9:04 PM, The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received information of a car versus person collision on CTH B, approximately ¾ of a mile west of the Village of Plain, in Franklin Township. The preliminary investigation showed that an 82-year-old male, identified as Ralph Ruhland, of Plain, WI, had parked his vehicle in the eastbound lane of CTH B and had exited his vehicle.  At this time, a westbound vehicle operated by Tina Melvin, age 47, from Lodi, WI, was unable to avoid striking Ruhland who was standing in the westbound lane.  Ruhland sustained serious injuries. Ruhland was transported by UW Medflight to the UW Hospital in Madison. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor at this time. The accident is still under investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spring Green Police Department, Plain Fire Department, Plain EMS, and UW Medflight.
