       Devils Lake State Park – Eastern portion of South Shore parking lot

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will be holding a joint press conference on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Devils Lake State Park to recap and provide updates into the investigation of the homicide of John Schmutzer as it reaches it’s one year mark.

At the conclusion of the press conference, those media outlets interested will be taken to the location of the homicide, about a 5-minute walk away from the parking lot.

Electricity is unavailable at both the press conference and the scene location. Alternate means to power equipment should be brought with.
