SPECIAL NEWS RELEASE

The 2018 Respect for Law Day observance in Sauk County is scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2018 beginning at 8:30 a.m.  The event will be held on the Broadway Street (west) side of the Sauk County Courthouse by the Memorial.

The Respect for Law Ceremony corresponds with National Police Week, a nationwide observance each May to honor law enforcement officers who have given their lives in service to their community.  Sauk County uses this time to honor all those that serve or have served in Public Safety in Sauk County.  In addition to Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS personnel will also be honored.

The public is invited to attend this year’s event.  The event will include a flag and wreath ceremony by various area Law Enforcement personnel, a rifle salute by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, and brief remarks and speeches from the law enforcement and local community.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, those in attendance are invited to join us in the County Board Room at the West Square Building where coffee, cookies, and other refreshments will be served.
