School Bus Crash

On February 29, 2012 at 7:16am the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a school bus crash on Nachreiner Hollow Road just east of CTH G in the Township of Bear Creek. Sheriff’s Deputies and Plain Ambulance were immediately sent to the scene.
The investigation revealed that a 2009 Blue Bird School Bus, operated by Kenneth Nachreiner, age 57, of Plain, WI, was eastbound on Nachreiner Hollow Road when Nachreiner lost control on the ice covered road. The bus entered the south ditch and struck a tree.
The school bus was partially loaded with 13 students from the River Valley School District. Four students complained of minor injuries as a result of the crash. Three students were transported to Sauk Prairie Hospital for treatment of their injuries by Plain Ambulance and one student was treated at the scene.
The bus company, Lamers Bus Lines, sent another school bus to the scene to transport the remaining students to their respective schools.
