Sexual Assault Arrest

On March 7th, 2021, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office received a report of repeated sexual assaults against a juvenile female that had allegedly occurred in 2020.

The victim reported that male in his 60’s met her while she was out walking on a rural Sauk County roadway. At that time, under the guise of potentially offering the female work, he obtained her phone number.

The male then began to text the juvenile female with general conversation, but the texts quickly turned sexual in nature. The male began to send photos to the juvenile of his genitals and suggest the two engage in sexual encounters.

The male would frequently offer money to the victim to coerce the victim into sexual encounters.  Over a period of time, it is reported that the adult male had sexual encounters with the juvenile victim on several occasions, and gave money to the victim in return for sexual encounters.

Review of communications between the victim and suspect confirmed many of the allegations being made by the victim.

The suspect, identified as 69 year old Gerald K. Crary, of rural Hillpoint, WI., was interviewed by a Sheriff’s Detective, during which he admitted to several of the allegations of the victim.

Crary was arrested on April 14, 2021 and charged with Child Enticement, WI Statute 948.07(2), Trafficking of a Child, WI Statute 948.051(1), Soliciting a Child for Prostitution, WI Statute 948.08, Possession of Child Pornography, WI Statute 948.12 (3)(b), Exposing a Child to Harmful Material, WI Statute 948.11 and Sexual Intercourse with a Child age 16 or older, WI Statute 948.09. He was booked into the Sauk County Jail where he awaits a bail hearing on April 16th.
