Shooting Investigation UPDATE - Additional subjects charged

On 07/24/2024 Sauk County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were involved in a shooting incident where the suspect, Jeffrey E. Miller, fired shots at Law Enforcement and fled the area on foot.  Ultimately, Miller was located deceased inside a residence in the Village of Amherst after a prolonged stand-off with Law Enforcement.  Since this incident, Sheriff’s Office Detectives have continued to investigate, including to determine how Miller left the area and identify those who aided him.

 

As a result, criminal charges against the below listed individuals have been filed in Sauk County Circuit Court.  Several of the subjects have been arrested and incarcerated in the Sauk County Jail and the others now have outstanding felony arrest warrants.

 

  • Alexis A. Fleischer, 28, of Lyndon Station – charged with aiding a felon and obstructing an officer. (ARRESTED)

 

  • Shawna L. Schroeder, 32, of Lyndon Station – charged with aiding a felon and felony bail jumping (WARRANT ISSUED)

 

  • James E. Knoll, 35, of Reedsburg – charged with aiding a felon as a repeater (WARRANT ISSUED)

 

  • Kayla M. Oliver, 27, of Kendall – charged with aiding a felon (ARRESTED)

 

  • Brandon R. Sebranek, 30, of Kendall – charged with aiding a felon as a repeater (ARRESTED)

 

  • James R. Miller, 36, of Cazenovia – charged with attempting to aid a felon and obstructing an officer (ARRESTED)
