On April 1, 2013, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office investigated seven separate incidents where stop signs were removed from intersections in the Town of Troy.  As a result of the investigation, Levi G. Butson, 20 years of age, from Sauk City, was charged with six counts of Criminal Damage To Property and six counts of Theft.  Sauk County Investigators recovered 15 road signs from Butson.  The signs included stop signs, road signs, and warning signs.
 
If convicted Butson could face 54 months of imprisonment, a fine up to $90,000 or both.
